Hallmar Weimaraners

Hobby breeder of quality Weimaraners

About Us

Bill Hall and Mary Ann Hall are brother and sister residing in Charleston, South Carolina. Raised in western New York State, they began competing at a young age at 4-H shows in Obedience and Junior Handling.  Mary Ann was a top Junior Handler who handled various breeds for local kennels, including Siberian Huskies, Bulldogs and sighthounds.

When Bill relocated to South Carolina, he purchased his first Weimaraner, Frieda, from Elena Smith (now Elena Lamberson) of Silversmith Weimaraners.  Mary Ann followed Bill to South Carolina and in 1993 they started Hallmar Weimaraners.  Elena Lamberson remains a close friend and mentor to the Halls and she has provided invaluable insight and assistance in their successful breeding program.

The Hall’s breed, train and compete with their Weimaraners in various venues including conformation, hunting, tracking, retrieving and obedience.  They are breeders/owners/trainers/handlers and AKC Hunt Test judges.  They are proud members of the Weimaraner Club of America, the Greater Charleston Weimaraner Club and the Tarheel Weimaraner Club. Mary Ann is also a member of the Charleston Dog Training Club.

Bill is a Nurseryman, is married to his wife Jessica and they have one son. Mary Ann is an Attorney.

Mission Statement

Hallmar Weimaraner’s goal is to breed companion hunting dogs.  Their temperaments must be compatible for indoor living with their family.  They must possess the structure and movement to hunt with great endurance.  They must be as free of genetic and/or health defects as possible with the current level of testing available.
